Seven employees from Holly House Residential Home in Milton Malsor have successfully gained NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care funded through Train to Gain.

Tresham Institute has worked with Impact Training to offer Train to Gain funded courses in Care including NVQ’s at Level 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care and has seen over 600 people complete their relevant skills training during the partnership.

The seven employees from Holly House completed the Train to Gain funded courses which started in May 2008 after it was recognised that the qualifications would benefit the individuals and the company and the service they provide.

Parvin Menon, Manager of Holly House said:  Following a period of solid hard work, it is now a dream come true. I am absolutely delighted and proud. The staff group are enjoying the feel of “ empowerment “ since they can now deal with complex issues with growing confidence. It gives this them a base from which they can go forward to acquire specialist skills in  line-management , therapeutic activities, or do trainer’s courses in topics such as Moving & Handling , risk assessments, health & safety and so forth. The direct beneficiaries are and will be, the service users at Holly House.

Allison Hope, Director of Employer Responsiveness said: “Tresham finds that working in partnership with other training providers such as this with Impact Training is vital to offer Train to Gain funding for businesses to train their employees for level 2 and level 3 qualifications. We are extremely pleased that organisations such as Holly House who would not normally have funding available for training have been able to take advantage of the Train to Gain scheme and are reaping the benefits already.”

Tresham Institute plans to continue its work with such a valued partner as Impact Training for the foreseeable future.
