Introduction

 

This course is aimed at those who have responsibility for the administration and control of medicines in a care setting.

Learning aims:

 

Ø      To give an understanding of how medicines are controlled and administered to service users in the care setting.

Ø     Policies and procedures

Ø     Responsibilities

Ø     Record keeping

Ø     Classes and types of medicines

Ø     Obtaining storing and disposing of medicines

Ø     Administering medicines

 

 

Delivery

 

Half day group induction

1-1  assessment/observation sessions (approx 3 hours duration)

Completion of knowledge evidence workbook

60 guided learning hours in total
